Collaboratively telling the history of the land, its people, cultures, and their interactions over time – bringing understanding to how the cultural heritage shapes, inspires, and informs Cook County.
Our Story
The Historical Alliance of Cook County was formed in 2022 between Schroeder Area Historical Society, Tofte Historical Society, Gunflint Trail Historical Society, and Cook County Historical Society. We have a goal of collaboratively telling the histories of our communities and working together in a more effective way. We all value the power of multiple stories and believe that history can help to strengthen and bridge our communities. As our organizations move forward, facing challenges and celebrating successes, our work together will create a synergy which will allow for creative and transformative outcomes.
Keeping our own identities, the partners are committed to deepening our relationship and working together through transparent and fair practices. Each partner has flexibility in their level of participation and we welcome collaboration with other like-minded Cook County heritage-related entities.
